The rollout of Welch Allyn Vital Sign Monitors (VSMs) have commenced for QEII Hospital. Devices arriving on the ward will be fully assembled and delivered to wards in a staged rollout during March and April.
Julio Menendez, Digital Hospital Devices Project Manager said over 250 VSMs will be deployed across Redland and QEII Hospitals and Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre.
“The next few weeks, staff will see many new devices arriving on their ward."
“The rollout of VSMs is just the beginning as we will deploy over 1,600 devices by the end of the rollout." He said.
“Prior to the Digital Hospital Go Live, the VSMs will be used as normal."
VSMs are among the first of many devices to come, including, Philips Electrocardiograph (ECGs), Workstations on Wheels (WOWs), Bedside Monitors (BSMs), End User Devices (EUDs), Downtime Viewers and Printers.
“From the Digital Hospital Go Live, all new and upgraded devices will be connected to the digital hospital system and will upload information to a patient’s electronic medical record.” Mr Menendez said.
Staff can test and try out the devices at the upcoming devices expo on Wednesday 18 April 2018, 10am - 3.30pm, Staff Dining Room.
