As of Wednesday 16 May 2018, QEII Jubilee Hospital will migrate to 7 digit patient UR Numbers (URNs).

The “auto-number” feature in HBCIS will also be switched off. This means that new patient registrations in HBCIS will change slightly and URNs will need to be manually entered in HBCIS from a list provided by Health Information Management Services (HIMS).

Your area will be allocated with UR Numbers to be used for new registrations from 16th May 2018.If you have not received a list of new UR Numbers by Monday 14th May 2018 please contact HIMS immediately.

You will still need to perform a thorough patient search in HBCIS before registering a new patient. All currently registered URNs in HBCIS will remain unchanged and will continue to be used for existing patients both pre and post go live.
